The chickenpox (varicella) vaccine is a series of two shots that can protect nearly everyone from contracting chickenpox. The first should be given at the age of 09-18 months and the second shot should be given between 30-90 days( Dependant upon age) later to confer maximum protection . Older children and adults should have two shots as well, with the second shot occurring at least 30 days after the first.
